Blue Cave Tour from Split and Brač 2024

Tours depart daily from Split town and Brač island - Milna, Gava Waterman Resort, Sutivan, Supetar, Postira

Discover the dazzling blue natural phenomena on Biševo island.
Don’t forget to put your hand in the water for extra magic.

Our crew will help you get comfortable on the boat and after about an hour of an enjoyable speedboat ride, you will be greeted by the raw nature of Biševo – the farthest inhabited Croatian island. Composed entirely out of porous limestone and due to the persistent work of the open sea and the strong winds, the island counts over 20 caves. The most popular among them is the Blue Cave – the highlight of the tour.

24 meters long, 12 meters wide, the cave got its name after the sparkling azure blue color washing the cave walls as the sunlight enters at a certain angle through the underwater entrance, reflecting dazzling blue color from the crystal white seabed 16 meters beneath. The cave also has a pearlescent magic trick up its sleeves so don’t forget to put your hand in the sea to reveal it! The best time to visit the cave is during morning hours when the colors are the most vivid. The Blue Cave is equally beautiful year-round and if you decide to skip the high season and visit the cave during April and May, or maybe late September and October, you will still get to enjoy the striking shades of blue illuminating the chambers.

Komiža town on the island of Vis has been strongly linked to the Blue cave for centuries and is the next stop on our Blue cave boat tour.

Komiza on Vis island

KOMIŽA

Grab your morning coffee or breakfast on the (historical) seaside promenade, also a filming site of the Mamma Mia 2 movie.

If time permits a stop at Komiža is planned after the Blue Cave. Komiza is situated on the island of Vis in the deep Komiža bay. This is a typical Mediterranean place with traditional architecture, narrow streets and houses around the harbour. The inhabitants were mostly seamen and fishermen due to the position and the lack of agricultural land. The important fishing history is shown in the Fishermen’s Museum, one of a kind in Croatia.

Please note Komiža is an optional destination on the tour dependent upon the decision of the crew and the amount of time spent at the Blue Cave.

Stiniva bay on Blue Cave tour

STINIVA BAY

Prepare your camera for the stunning cove and its high rocky cliffs – the remains of a cave.

Stiniva bay was once a cave, its remains can be seen today in the form of two large cliffs enclosing the pebbled beach, voted the best in Europe in 2016. Nowadays, the cove isn’t as quiet and peaceful as it once was. Swimming is no longer considered safe as there are many boats moored at the entrance therefore it is not allowed nor recommended. Luckily, Dalmatia is full of paradise locations for swimmers and the next one on our boat tour will surely leave you in awe.

Blue Cave boat tour swimming at the Blue Lagoon

BLUE LAGOON

Dip into the turquoise sea, paradise for swimming and snorkeling, away from the hustle of urban life.

Picture the most captivating shades of blue and green intertwining under the beaming sun, the shallow sea so transparently clear and yourself relaxed like you have never been before! The Blue Lagoon of Budikovac island makes this fantasy become reality. The true example of “island life” and fjaka-state of mind, this stop along the tour will be all about swimming, snorkeling and relaxing under the sun. Feel free to use our snorkeling equipment on the boat and dip into the most stunning turquoise blue you can imagine. You will probably feel like Robinson Crusoe surrounded by nothing other than the unspoiled nature of this secluded location, very well sheltered from the hustle of urban life and accessible only by a private boat.

To get a better idea of how diverse the Croatian islands are, we are taking you to the next destination.

Pakleni islands on the Blue cave tour

PAKLENI ISLANDS

Cruise through the dreamy archipelago of 20 islands scattered in front of Hvar.

Pakleni islands (Paklinski islands) are an archipelago of 20 islands close to the island of Hvar. The biggest and the most prominent is the island of Saint Clement, the home to the astounding botanical garden with more than 100 species of plants brought to the island from all over the world by Meneghello family members  –  residents of the island for over a hundred years.

Cruising through the dreamy archipelago, we’re reaching the next spot – very much contrasting, bustling Hvar!

View of Hvar town and the fortress of Hvar

HVAR ISLAND

Visit the sunniest island that never sleeps. Be sure to taste its genuine lavender ice cream.

Once you step out on the hustling promenade and look around, it’s not hard to see why Hvar was classified as one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world. Croatia’s sunniest island with over 2724 sunny hours per year which locals call the sunny island is one of the most visited islands in Croatia. Venetian style architecture, beaming sun, immaculate azure sea and lovely beaches as well as a rich cultural and historical heritage make it worth the titles!

It is really hard to choose what would be the best thing to do in Hvar. To start off, we suggest a short walk to St. Stephen’s square. Look up and if you feel adventurous enough, climb up the fortress Fortica to enjoy the impressive view and don’t forget to snap a few breathtaking pictures to share when wandering around.

On the way back, stop at the small shop with the rich scent of lavender and treat yourself to a small bottle of locally-made fragrant lavender oil. Lavender is yet another thing the island is famous for and a reason the island smells exceptional during June and July when the opulent aroma of lush fields fills the air.

You will have approximately an hour and a half to roam around the cobbled streets enjoying the vivacious atmosphere. If swimming and sunbathing took a toll on your stomach, our crew will gladly recommend a Dalmatian restaurant. Skip dessert and grab a scoop or two of ice-cream and sit along the promenade or find yourself a cozy spot on the main square and soak up the fervent energy and a little bit more of the sun before heading back!

We hope this 10 hour long boat tour will leave you just a little bit tired yet full of memories from your holiday in Croatia.
