The Blue Cave, one of the most beautiful caves on the Adriatic coast, was discovered in 1884 by Baron Eugen Ransonnet. This Viennese painter likely had no idea that his discovery would one day attract thousands of visitors to Biševo Island each year.

Its captivating blue light is a result of a natural phenomenon. The light breaks through the water and reflects off the sea bottom and onto the inside walls, creating magnificent blue silhouettes.
